Exhibition: “The urge to create visions…” 1929–2017

Earlier this year, Lin Yi was invited by Signum Foundation Gallery to showcase his works at Centre of Polish Sculpture Museum in Orońsko.

The title of exhibition is called The Urge to Create Visions’ 1929-2017, which refers to Stefan Themerson’s essay from 1936. The exhibition is in the form of collage and it experiments on several levels with broadly understanding of visuality. It is a record of past and contemporary dreams about the unusual experience. Both the historical and modern artists who take part in hold a medial dialogue with one another, moving beyond the framework of linear narration.

Lin Yi will exhibit the painting of Autumn (W 180 cm x H 180 cm) made in 2016 and the new painting Thousand Years (W 300 cm x H 100 cm) which is made especially for this exhibition.

The exhibition will be started from 27 May to 1 September 2017.
